I love the fall

I don't know why it is I love the fall season so much, but I do. I love pumpkins, leaves turning color, the air turning cooler, it is my favorite time of year. It is when Brent and my birthdays are, our anniversary, when we moved into our condo, and it is when we found out we were finally going to have a baby. I also have great memories of going trick or treating on our mountain road in a hay ride, then having spice cake and apple cider after to keep warm. Thanksgiving always seemed to be the same every year and I loved it. Cordell taught me how to play chess one year and I wanted to play all day, I even won once. I just feel happiest in the fall. I almost have more fall decorations than Christmas ones and I am putting them out today so I just wanted to let you all know I am getting excited for fall and I wanted to wish you all a happy Harvest.

We finally have a family to blog about

Alot of people (mostly family) have been asking us why we haven't done a blog yet.
Well, when it was just Brent and I (for four and a half years) I didn't really see a reason. Now that we have finally started a family, we have something to blog about. We are so excited to have our little Parker Preece Quist and I'm sure there will be lots of pictures and stories about him on here. I will also try to include details of Brent and I as well.

I think I will start by telling everyone a few weeks ago we had Parkers Blessing and all of both Brent and I's immediate family came. It was lots of fun, and also craziness for Parker and Mommy who by day three was very over whelmed by all the activity. We did lots of fun things including paddle boating in Evergreen Lake, going to a historic amusement Park, some of us went river rafting, and the biggest adventure of all, feeding everyone in our 1165 sq ft condo. Parker did well that day for the blessing but cried for every waking moment of the rest of Sunday and Monday. Then he was back to normal. Part of me wishes we could do it now that he is a month older because he handles things so much better.

Other things that are going on are Brent's long commute (1 1/2 hours each way) and the Democratic Convention in downtown Denver he has to deal with. Sorry Steph (and other democrats/socialists/Marxists) but the democrats are just a thorn in our side right now (or just a little more than usual). I have started work again. I almost didn't make it back since I love being a mommy so much but we really want to build our savings back up and also build a food storage. I only agreed to go back if my visiting teacher Joy would agree to watch Parker. She is a grandma who loves babies and does very well with Parker. My first day back I cried for two hours but it has slowly been getting better. We'll keep you up dated as time goes by.
