Yesterday Brent and I found out we are having a girl! We are excited and hope that Parker won't beat up too much on his sister. Brent is really happy, he really wanted a girl. Now it won't matter what we have next. Hope you all are doing well.

This is a good video of Parker's personality. He still won't walk for the camera, I don't know why because he will walk otherwise. Maybe someday.

I haven't been very good about updating our Blog lately. Brent was in a trial and our lives turned into absolute chaos. It is finnally over but I wanted to up load a few videos that I wasn't able to do over the last month. I will get another video of Parker walking when I can and I will post somthing tomarrow since we will find out the gender of our expectant baby in the morning.

A couple of weeks ago Parker took his first few steps. I haven't been as concerned about him walking as I was about him crawling since crawling is so important in a babies development, but I talked to his early intervention PT about getting him to walk on her next visit (we share an office at work). I told her that he was ready but he would get upset with me everytime I tried to get him to walk on his own. He thought I was being mean. So while she was working with him I left quickly to get our garbage can and when I came back she said, "he did it he just walked 3 steps". She got him to do it again for me but once I got the camra out he wouldn't do it again. Here is a video of Wendy trying very hard to get him to walk for the camra. Parker tries walking more and more everyday but I can never get it on camra, when I do I will up load it.

We went to Gymboree about a month ago when Cameron and Stacey came to visit with their boys. While we were there Parker was jumping on the trampolene when another girl playing there climbed on with him. Here is my bouncing baby boy.

So I had my first experience caving into my child screaming for something he wanted at a store. Parker loves horses and every time he see's a picture of one, a toy, or the real thing he says "house"over and over. He means to say horse but with his 14 month old tongue it sounds like house. When I was in Babies R us the other day he saw a rocking horse and started screaming "house, house, house". My big mistake was letting him rid it. I've never seen him so happy than to be riding that horse and I thought I was going to cry when I took him off of it and told him he was all done. He panicked, like I've never seen him panic in his short little life. He was thrashing trying to get out of my arms and screaming so the whole store could here him, "house, house, house, house!". When I finally got him to the cashier I decided just to find out how much it was and if it was too much I wouldn't get it. She asked another lady to bring it to her to price check it and that lady plops it on the counter right in front of Parker who was still upset and saying horse. This just made him go to a new level of intensity about the horse, now he was physically fighting me, trying to get on the horse that was up on the counter and yelling horse even louder. The worse thing was that it cost $40.00 and there was no way I wanted to spend that or tell Brent that I had spent it. I took a few minutes to decide just to get it. I've never seen him show such energy or excitement over a toy before. I got the dang thing and then I got out of there while every one was watching me. I put the horse right next to his car seat so the head was write next to Parker and that little boy pet that horse and had to have said "house! house! house!" a hundred times on the 45 min drive home and then he wouldn't get off of it once we got home. Here is a picture of him on his new horse. After seeing how much he loves it I think it was worth the money.

Parker has been standing on his own alot lately but every time I try to get it on camera he stops. This is the first time I've been able to record it. He also always pats my belly and says hi to the baby but as soon as Brent turns on the camera he stops. Maybe some day we'll get it.

Parker loves to go out in the front Parking area and push his walking toy. As you can see Brent is the one that hovers over him and is afraid of letting him try new things and I'm the one who is always saying, "He'll never learn if he doesn't try. He'll be OK if he falls down". Anyway Parker's little legs look so cute and he seems so determined.

Well Brent and I were very surprised to find out that we are expecting our 2nd baby. It was a shock but a blessing. No we were not trying, but we are happy and excited that I don't have to go through fertility treatments to have a second baby. I am thirteen weeks now and we found out a month ago. I had an ultra sound last week and the Dr. said everything looked perfect, that's always a relief. My due date is February 18th.
I'll be working again 15 hours a week until the end of January then my boss is going to try to get a temp to replace me for the rest of the school year. Currently the plan is to go back the following school year when the baby is six months old. Right now working has actually been good for Parker. He is a very energetic 14 month old and he goes to his day care and plays hard all day. He gets to go twice a week and I think anymore days would be too much but he enjoys it right now. Hope you all are doing well.

We went to the zoo last week and Parker loved it. He knows how to say horse and doggy so every animal there was either a horse or a dog but he was really into it. He even went on the Merry-go-round. My friend Christy meet my mom and I there with her kids so her daughter is the little girl in the picture with Parker.
We also went and stayed in Grandby, CO this last weekend and we had alot of fun but I forgot to bring our camra so I don't have any pictures. Brent and I were able to go on a date that night while our friend watched Parker. At first we really missed him but then it was like heaven just to relax and not worry about him. All of us had a good time.

I know it has taken a while for me to get these videos up (since tomorrow is July 1st), but here are a couple of videos of Parker celebrating his birthday the Saturday after his birthday with some of my family and his friends. His actual birthday was on a Wednesday and we didn't want to just ignore it since he had a party the Saturday before and the Saturday after his birthday so we decided just to go the Apple bees. Wednesday is kids day so we ordered him his first restaurant meal and they had a balloon guy he was fascinated with. It was almost a weight off my shoulders for the week to be over but I never want to forget that he is our miracle baby.
The summer has been going well. It has been busier than I thought it would be but I am loving staying home with Parker. I only work 15 hours a week during the school year but it seems to turn my world up side down. Brent has been very busy with a long commute, working and yes he is still elders Quorum President. He also has other things going on outside of work that take up his time but he usually gets to play with Parker everyday and Parker thinks daddy is the funniest person in the world. Brent had a court hearing yesterday and had to drive so he left much latter in the morning than normal and was here when Parker woke up. So this morning Parker went around the house calling for "da da" hoping he would be home. It made me sad because Brent had a stake meeting in Denver and on days like today Parker doesn't get to see Brent at all because he goes straight from work to the stake center and doesn't get home till 10:00pm. Oh well it's life. We get to have Brent home this Friday and we are really looking forward to it. Hope all of you are well. I know I wrote alot but I thought I would give an update.

June 10th is Parker's 1st Birthday! This last weekend all the Quist family came together in Utah for Jacob's (the oldest grandchild) baptism and we also did a cake for Parker. I tried downloading the video but it was too big so here is a picture of Parker eating his cake. We didn't have a highchair so I just stripped Paker down, sat him on the deck and let him go to town with the cake. He loved it! Brent and I will do something small with him on Wednsday (his actual birthday), then we are having a get together with friends on Saturday so he gets more cake. Happy Birthday to my baby boy!!!

Parker doesn't like how grass feels so when you try to put him down he keeps his legs from touching the ground.

Parker is a little grumpy in the video but he still can't help dancing to the music. Uncle Doug who do you think he gets his rhythm from?

Brent and I were able to visit Jen and Derek while we were in Utah. The new baby was sleeping during this picture but I snaped a good shot of Parker playing with Brendyn and Ammon. They are sweet boys. Brendyn looks so much like Cordell did at that age it felt like I had gone back in time. Their new home is very beautiful and has a great layout. It was good to see them again.

This is all the cousins on the Quist side we were all able to come together for Jacobs baptism. Mary and Craig had a house full of people, they are almost done with a house remodel so it will be good to see this fall when it's done.

Even though it has been raining for 5 days now we had a very warm day here in Colorado at the beginning of last week. I just had to get out the swimming pool and enjoy the great view from our porch while cooling off. Parker loves water so he enjoyed it. Even though we had a mild winter we have not had a mild spring and I am so looking forward to more days out in the sun like this one. I have been looking forward to this summer so I can have a big long break from work, but some nice weather would be nice as well.

We wanted to wish both our moms a happy Mothers Day with this video of Parker. Many of you don't know this but Parker has a physical therapist coming from early intervention to help with his gross motor. He is 11 months today and still has difficulty with crawling and other gross motor skills, he is crawling a little in this video. Now I have to brag a little too. Even though Parker is struggling with gross motor when he was evaluated he scored high in all other areas of his development, the highest was in receptive language at the 85%. (I just wanted to share the positive as well.) Happy Mothers Day to all you wonderful ladies out there who make a difference!!!

About a week and a half ago we had three feet of snow fall in two days. We just hunkered down and waited out the storm. Our electricity was out so to entertain our selves we took Parker out to go sledding for his first time. You will have to watch the videos to see what his reaction was. Sorry I have put so many videos up on our blog but we got a new video camera for Christmas and it is so much fun to use.

In October we had our family pictures taken and I wanted to post some since we didn't have the chance then to do so. Parker was 4 months old at the time so he looks so much smaller since he is 10 months old now. We have had alot of fun watching him grow and sometimes we miss that little baby. I always tell Brent, "I wanted a baby so bad and he didn't stay a little baby for very long". It is also fun to see him learn and discover new things.
We hope the sun is shining more on your spring then it has been on Ours. Have a great easter.

We Finally have a computer and the internet!!!!!!
So as soon as I started our block last September our Computer got a warm and was pretty much destroyed. ( We have had the worse luck with computers). Anyhow Brent's parents gave us their old lap top and then we could not get it to hook up to our old internet so we finnally got new internet as well. It has been a very long few months.
Parker is big now. He is 10 months this Friday and we missed out on bragging about him all year but we have alot of pictures and videos to download. It will be hard to just choose a few to post on the blog so we don't over whelm every one.
Really we have just been very busy this year. Being a working mom can be so hard to fit everything in, even though I only work 15 hours a week. I think living an hour away from society is starting wear us out. We love the mountains but it sure takes alot of sacrafice, time, money, NAPTIME, ect to do anything. Now that Brent works in downtown Denver it would be nice to figure out a way to move sown there.
Well not much else has happened other than our baby growing up so I will leave you with that and hopefuly we will have better luck this year with our computer.
