Update on the last year

Oh this is so bad. I haven't updated this in a year!!!! Sooooooo much has happened I think I am just going to do it by month to make this catchup a Little less painful. I'm so used to catching people up on face book I've totally neglected to blog.

-Jan 2011 because Brent was laid off we moved in with my parents. We are so grateful to have them in our lives and they totally saved us during a very scary and unpredictable time. I had to Drive to Bailey 1 and a 1/2 hours one way on Tues of every week work spend the night alone in our cold empty condo (last year at this time temps were in the -20's), would work Wed then head back to my mom's. I did this until May and it proved to be one of the more stressful things I have gone through.

-Feb 2011 Abby had her first Birthday, we had some friends from Brighton join us and it was alot of fun! One of the days I worked in Feb I was so ill I could barely see straight but I felt I needed to survive and work anyway. I barely made it home and Brent tossed the kids at me then left. After I put the kids to bed he came to me and said he needed to go out with me, then he said something I will NEVER forget. I was dying from some horrible illness and was barely able to get back in the car. Then Brent went on and on about how horrible it is to be left alone with the kids for two days and that it is the most difficult thing he has ever done. I kept agreeing with him and saying "yes it is very hard, now you know how hard my days with them are". Then he turned to me and said, "Isn't it easier for you than it is for me, I mean it's not as hard on you". It was like the shot heard around the world. I could not believe he just said that. At least now Brent is very understanding of me when I have a hard time with the kids.

I think I will do a few more months tomorrow.

Wow! It took a long time to post all those new pictures. We have had a roller coaster ride the last couple months. Brent was laid off at the 1st of the month along with many others, (perfect timing for the holidays). We are starting to realize litigation isn't as stable as it used to be but we are doing our best. Brent did get some part time contract work just before Christmas. January is the hiring season so we are hopeful! We managed to have a wonderful yet meager Christmas. We spent all month trying to celebrate the holiday with fun activities and talking about Christ birth. Parker is really picking up alot now and learned alot about what we do for Christmas. When we took Christmas down he cried and cried saying "no bye, bye Christmas". We also got to see Cameron and his family, Celebrate Cordell's (my nephew) birthday, my moms birthday and New Years.
Hears hoping 2011 is luckier than 2010 has been. Hope you all had a great Holiday!!!!

We had a great Halloween! We went to Halloween Hallows at DCES on Friday night and the church party on Satuday night. Parker loved it and learned what "trick or treat" ment right away. He also won the costum contest at the church party, we thought that was great! Hope you all had a great Halloween as well.

I love the fall!!! Here are some pictures of the kids I've taken this fall. Parker thought the pumpkin was so "ucky". He gagged when he saw the inside and started to cry when Brent touched him with a little of it. In the end he loved the pumpkin and lighting it.

I got a new camra for my birthday so I took some close up pictures of the kids. I also have a picture of Brent's birthday cake in there. My life has been crazy busy since the school year started and it has been difficult to even have time to turn on the computer much less upload photoes. Hope all is well with all of you.

We thought it would be a good idea to get a crib with a changing table connected because our condo is so small. Today Parker was making noise instead of sleeping and when I walked into his room he was sitting on the changing table. I got theses pictures of him shortly after going into his room and he had climbed back into his crib. He is always 12 steps ahead of me!

We celebrated Easter at my mom and dads house. It was our first overnight away with both kids. We managed to forget a number of items (including warm pajamas for Parker) but we survived. Easter morning was fun. Parker picked up on finding eggs and putting them in the basket right away. He also quickly picked up on the fact that the eggs had candy and kept saying "more please" all morning. I finally had Brent hid the basket from him. We didn't get a lot out of conference but we recorded it on DVR and plan to watch one talk a night for several nights. We really enjoyed ourselves and hope you all had a great Easter as well.

One day while I was nursing Abby I realized that I had left the gate off the stairs when I heard Parker climbing them. He doesn't have the best safety awareness so we don't usually let him climb them by himself. I heard him up stairs getting into something then I quickly heard the loudest crashing combined with screaming I have ever heard. I put Abby down and ran to the stairs when I got there I found that Parker had tried to make a sled out of the baby bath and go down the stairs with it. I was horrified and Parker was screaming hysterically. When I put the tub away and brought him down stairs he was still crying from the experience but he started to hit me because he was mad that I put the "sled" away after he had worked so hard to get it down stairs. I had to put him in time out while he was still screaming, the little stinker. You can't really see the bruise in the photo but it was there for a week. I never take the gate down now.

Abby has been smiling and laughing at us since she was two weeks old. She really likes it when we tell her how pretty she is. What a sweet little spirit Heavenly Father sent us.

It has been a very busy week if you can imagine. Abigail Mandy Quist was born February 12 at 6:31 a.m., weighed 7 pounds 7ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. She is a very sweet, peaceful little girl and we have loved welcoming her into our home. Parker also loves his sister very much (almost too much). There are also a few pictures of Parkers special day with daddy for the free day at the zoo. Hope you all are well.

Yesterday Brent and I found out we are having a girl! We are excited and hope that Parker won't beat up too much on his sister. Brent is really happy, he really wanted a girl. Now it won't matter what we have next. Hope you all are doing well.

This is a good video of Parker's personality. He still won't walk for the camera, I don't know why because he will walk otherwise. Maybe someday.
